Our Location
The location of our hotel is by far one of the best in the Smokies! We are located along a beautiful mountain stream that can be viewed from every room on our property from each individual balcony. We are located just a short walk from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and more specifically the Gatlinburg Trail. A trail that is absolutely perfect for explorers of all ages to wander the national park and learn more about the forest. The trail can be used to access the Sugarlands Visitors Center where daily programs are available for kids during the warmer months of the year. Cataract Falls is also a great spot in the same area that the kids will certainly be telling stories about for weeks after your return home. You can hop on a trolley in front of the hotel and access Sugarlands Visitors Center, Laurel Falls parking area and the Elkmont Campground as well. The trolley can be used as well for checking out the area attractions. However, if you’re up for roaming on foot, you’ll love that our hotel is also just a short walk away from some of the most loved attractions in downtown Gatlinburg as well. Take a walk to your favorite Ripley’s properties, enjoy a ride on the Aerial Tramway, spend some time at Ober Gatlinburg, take a ride on the SkyLife walk along the SkyBridge and much more!

A visit to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park isn’t the only chance that kids will have to engage in some much needed outside time or the opportunity to connect with nature. Kids love our outdoor heated pool and it is perfect for relaxing after a day of experiencing all the area has to offer! Children also enjoy spending time with their parents on the private balcony that is included in every room of our hotel and that has a prime view of the river. Many times wildlife can be observed in their natural habitat from a safe distance on the balcony. It’s not unusual to see a great blue heron looking for an afternoon snack, a black bear taking a drink or a couple of otters playing in the stream! Guests of all ages will enjoy the views of the Smoky Mountains from the balcony and on the right night even a full moon or a sky filled with stars shining down on the Smokies!

The owners of our local hotel and our staff all believe that kids need time in the great outdoors, moments with their feet in a Smokies stream and time running in the fields like many of us did a children growing up in the hills of Tennessee. However, we also know that while there is a time for play, there is also a time for rest and relaxation. Kids staying with us at the Old Creek Lodge love to watch their favorite cartoons on our televisions while they kick back for some downtown on our extra comfy beds or in the living area of their room. They also enjoy being able to use our free wifi to play their favorite games. While staying with us, everyone in the family will have access to free wifi and the opportunity to use it as needed. The connection to the internet has also been helpful to some guests in the past when they’ve needed to access relaxing music for their children with sensory disorders, allowing them to have a night as restful as a night at home. The Old Creek Lodge has a cozy and rustic vibe to it, but it’s also luxurious and offers the feeling of being in a cabin in the mountains. However, unlike a location tucked away in the hills when you’re a guest with us, you have the perks of being in downtown Gatlinburg along with amenities that you wouldn’t have in a cabin.
