You’ll find the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park a stone’s throw from our lobby, and many popular Gatlinburg destinations are within easy walking distance. Here are a few fun ways to explore the Smokies while staying at our hotel in Gatlinburg TN:

1. Explore By Foot

Our hotel features a perfect location where you can enjoy the peaceful ambiance of our riverside accommodations while still being steps away from the action of downtown Gatlinburg! Take a short stroll into town where you can explore attractions such as the Aerial Tramway to Ober Mountain, Gatlinburg SkyPark, Gatlinburg Space Needle, Ripley’s Haunted Adventure and much more! You’ll also find tons of fun shops where you can pick up Smoky Mountain souvenirs, as well as tempting restaurant options to satisfy your appetite. You can even walk from our hotel into Great Smoky Mountains National Park via the Gatlinburg Trail, a 1.9 mile one-way trail that leads from Gatlinburg directly to the Sugarlands Visitor Center!

2. Take a Scenic Drive

Another one of the fun ways to explore the Smokies while staying at our hotel in Gatlinburg TN is with a scenic drive in your car! There are all kinds of scenic drives in the area where you can enjoy the beauty of the Smokies without having to hike. If you are interested in seeing some wildlife, head to the Cades Cove Loop Road where sightings of white-tailed deer and bears are common! Some of the other scenic routes in the area include the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail and Foothills Parkway. Of course, the car also comes in handy to head up to Pigeon Forge where you can experience Dollywood theme park, the Titanic Museum, and other amazing attractions!

3. Ride the Gatlinburg Trolley

If you prefer to leave the driving to someone else, hop aboard the Gatlinburg Trolley. This trolley service operates on a daily basis, travels all throughout the city and is completely free to ride! That’s right, there are NO fares or fees to ride the Gatlinburg Trolley, and there is a trolley stop right at our hotel! There is a fleet of over 20 trolleys that service several routes, and you can board at any of the convenient stops throughout the city. Note that the operating hours may vary depending on the route and special events, but the trolleys typically run from 10:30 AM to 10 PM from November to April and 8:30 AM to midnight from May to October. There is one route (Yellow Route) that operates limited service from November to February, which is 10:30 AM to 6 PM on Mondays through Saturdays.
