Ogle Brothers General Store was created to carry on the story and values of the Ogle family as well as pay tribute to the Smoky Mountain culture that so many have grown to love over the years. The property where the general store sits was purchased in 1925 by Dr. John W. Ogle and his devoted wife Blanche. Dr. Ogle cared for patients all over the Smokies and often set out on horseback in all types of weather conditions to treat members of the community in their homes. At home on the Five Oaks Farm he raised a family with Blanche and poured his time and love into his marriage, his children, breeding Tennessee Walking Horses, and everything that he set out to do during his time here on the earth. Blanche cared for their children, cooked up southern style meals in the kitchen, entertained guests, and often welcomed weary travelers. Since 1925 the Ogle family has worked and played on the Five Oaks property and most recently opened the general store in hopes of once again welcoming travelers from near and far to experience the southern hospitality of their grandparents. The Ogle Brothers vision of a warm and welcoming place for folks to visit and fellowship with their family friends is now complete and they would love for you to stop by the next time you’re in town!
